Initial thoughts: fight scene The first thing we noticed was about this piece was the text that it seemed to be accompanying. From this we used our very limited knowledge of Latin to decipher that Suparpidem may mean something about a special day, or a religious victory day, and since the picture matched that we ran with it. The picture itself seemed to be a warrior of some sort holding a bible and standing on a snake, which could signify the devil, and a lion like animal. It also had religious elements in it such as god’s hand reaching down from a beam of light and an angel seeming to be worshipping off to the side. We also found it interesting that the picture plain, defined by the green square, did not contain the photo and that parts of the picture actually go into the script above it. Since we believe this is on a manuscript we believe it is probably around ¼ of the page.
