This supporting image for the Beast and Dragon section of the 14th Century Tapisserie de l’Apocalypse in Angers is from the late medieval blockbook, Apocalypsis Sancti Johannes. This dates from the mid-15th Century in northern Europe. It was among the earliest printed versions of material associated with the book of Revelations, and is now held at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York.
