Our initial thoughts are that this figure is on the inside of a building and the cross on her head piece leads us to believe that this was in a place of worship, i.e. a church. We know its not the inside of the building because of how well this piece has aged. If it was on the outside of a building then the women hand would be weathered by the elements outside. This piece looks like its made out of some kind of stone maybe marble or terracotta because of the orangey colouring. the lines are very detailed and the cloak looks very realistic. This women is an angel of some sort because of her wings and she’s either pregnant or just has a lot of clothes on. We were thinking she maybe the goddess of fertility. There is script on the top of the frame is latin. Automatically we can assume that this is a catholic piece because of the latin script. The frame looks like it is made from something different. because it is more run down and cracked and the colouring is darker. The fame looks like it could be engraved right into the building and the figure was put there after.
