This Griffin attack Dear Mosaic is a Byzantine Imperial Mosaics collected in the Great palace Mosaic Museum in Istanbul. It’s a part of colonnade of a Hippodrome. The artical was moved into the Museum for better protection. Most Mosaics in this place describe the scence of people toil, humen fighting wild animals and animals fight each other like this one with gory details. There is a strong lined Griffin dived up to a deer which standing beside a tree, and attack th deer with its beak and claw. It has a conspicuous detail about the scar on the deer and the using of bright colors give the feeling of bloody and showy. It’s made before 5th century, and it’s the early period in the history of Byzantine Mosaic, cauce of that, these mosaics has strong Roman style.
