Stela of Deniuenkhonsu Support Symbols explained. Interestingly both the winged disc and the scarab beetle flanked by jackals in the arch of the stela are symbols for the sun. The god Re is holding a was-sceptre. The ankh on the sceptre, the cross with the looped top, is the sign of life and is directed towards Deniuenkhons. The sceptre itself represents Re’s ‘dominion’.
