First Impressions of Cat Statue • Has the eye of Horus on it- something to do with the after life. May have been buried with the rich. • Straight line- cat’s good posture= draws your eye vertically • 3 dimensional • Relatively realistic except for the motifs etched into it • Has a winged creature with a beetle head on its chest out • An Eye of Horus necklace • Repeating vertical lines around the neck look like a collar • Repeated horizontal lines in the ears give it texture- hair • Something etched on the head that is hard to make • Colour is based on the material used- our guess is bronze and has gold rings • The material is multi coloured brown, green and red. Looks like fur- not in texture but just because it gives it more dimension • Symmetrical and harmonious piece
